This father & son team has been part of our offroad rental and driving school program for more than 2 years and this race will prove to be one of the best. Initially scheduled for Rage at the River, then Rage at the Primm until that was cancelled. They agreed to move it to 2021 and race the Legacy Desert Showdown. 213 miles in the beautiful desert of Pahrump NV.

For the first official Legacy Desert Showdown race we were happy to be a part of the events and activities for the weekend. Jason Cobb came out to do some testing and support the new race series.

By 8:30 am the race was on. Testing and taking it easy went out the door as soon as the green flag dropped. Jason in the 6066 ran in front of the 6025 for the first half of the race. Putting some distance between him and Ty Fall in the 6025 through Pit 4.

After sailing through Pit 4 the 6066 started to experience some voltage issues and planned for a stop at Pit 5 to swap the alternator. With only about a 5 minute lead on the 6025, the team knew they would have to hurry.

The alternator change went smooth and the 6066 was back on the road but was now about 10 minutes down on the 6025. Ty knows now Jason Cobb has him in his sights and is working to make up time on him. Ty’s father and co-driver Greg said, “I had to keep trying to calm him down so he wouldn’t throw the truck away”. Greg’s ability to calm Ty worked well enough to bring the 6025 across the finish line first and take their first ever class win.

Congrats to Ty and his family! Job well done!!
